Corsham Institute is involved in research into the prescribing of pharmaceuticals in primary care across the United Kingdom. The aim of this research is to examine the influences on prescribing both direct medical influences and wider societal influences such as education, demographics, income, etc. This research uses the wealth of publically available information provided under the open government initiative.
As part of this research initiative Corsham Institute, supported by UKCloud, has curated disparate health and social care information into a single research repository. Access to this repository is being made available to academic, healthcare and life-sciences organisation to allow the widest group of researchers to derive insight from ‘raw’ information. The results derived from this information will be shared through Corsham Institute to help assist a better understanding of when changes are possible to improve treatment.
